Patricia has enjoyed illustrating and designing projects both on and off the page since graduating with a design degree in 1985. She worked for 25 years in-house for publishers as an art buyer and designer, pushing the boundaries of print design and subject areas, before becoming completely freelance in order to develop her own projects. She is experienced at designing for commissions of all scales – from small papercraft projects to west end musicals, exhibitions, open air performances and festivals. An enthusiastic collaborator, she likes nothing better than taking a fresh look at a new subject area. She started her career after gaining an art and design degree and Kingston University, painting backdrops and wall art for photoshoots for a London publishing house moving onto designing, styling and art directing photoshoots for three London publishing houses, becoming the creative director for over a decade, co-created an art and craft list and leading the art department and creating hundreds of eye catching books. She currently works as an independent creative director, publishing consultant, designer, and paper crafter based in London.
