The author graduated from Iowa State University Bachelor of Science degree in History and a commission as a Second Lieutenant United States Air Force in May 1969. He earned a Master of Arts degree in History from the University of Stanislaus at Turlock, California in June 1978. He served as a strategic intelligence officer with many Air Force Commands and intelligence agencies. He completed Air Force Squadron Officers School, Air Command and Staff College, Air War College, Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Naval War College, Foreign Service Institute program on the Middle East. He has published 300 magazine articles and eight books.
