Schiffer Publishing, Ltd. (Atglen, PA) is a family-owned publisher with over 5,700 titles in print and a broad catalog of books, including non-fiction books on art, decorative arts, architecture, design, antiques, military history, maritime, photography, fashion, house and garden, food, history, crafts, woodworking, regional, and more. Located on the Schiffer Book Farm near the Chester/Lancaster county line, we are two miles from the Parkesburg station on Amtrak's Keystone Line.

                               Sales Account Manager: Internal

Schiffer Publishing Ltd. is seeking an energetic self-starter and team player with a wide range of interests and knowledge of the publishing industry to join our internal sales team.  Responsibilities include growing current customers and developing new business.  A proactive, confident and assertive sales style is essential. The position is versatile and there are a wide range of titles to sell.  Because the publishing industry is ever changing, goals and means of achieving them change too. Regular internal meetings are required to evaluate and adjust course.   Prospective candidates need to be smart, react quickly to changing needs and have a keen ability to develop solid sales relationships. 

Job Responsibilities:
Grow existing list of regional and select national accounts.
Develop new customers: internally generated leads, lists, or introduced at tradeshows.
Make outgoing calls and take incoming sales leads from customer service.
Complete a minimum of 40 customer calls per day by phone.
Monitor and adjust individualized account sales strategies (i.e., accounts that have not recently purchased, new account generation, etc.).
Expand the territory dollar volume by a minimum of 7% annually.
Provide regular feedback as required: State of the market, Promotions, Outreach, etc.
Maintain a current database of all sales leads and current customers.
Conducts account analysis as required and perpare Sales reports as requested in a timely manner.
When traveling, maintain budget.
Visit regional customers and top accounts in person outside of trade shows.
Represents the company at trade shows and other events.
Work closely with team to create new, and enhance current, business development opportunities that are cost-effective and useful.
Work closely with Acquisitions to identify new publication projects.
Working toward quarterly and annual sales targets by sales channel
Provides strategy explanations of the current status quo of top 50 house accounts on a quarterly basis
Responds to inquiries from both internal and external contacts within 48 hours
Additional duties and projects as assigned

Desired Qualifications: Successful candidates should have:
Experience utilizing a consultative sales approach
Ability to understand customer needs and communicate our value proposition
Ability to prospect and engage both potential and existing customers by phone
High level energy and a passion for selling by phone
Ability to take direction and produce results

Job Requirements
Minimum 5 years of sales, preferable in the publishing industry
Must be proficient in Excel and Word
Intellectually curiosity (like to learn).
The desire to win and the drive to make it happen.
Excellent written and verbal communication.          
College degree (BA/BS).
Proven record of successful selling and demonstrable ability to grow revenue.
Ability to travel domestically to customers and trade shows
