Mark P. Block is the proprietor of Mark Block Originals + Fine Art (blockglass.net) and a long-time collector of gems and minerals, particularly varieties of quartz, calcite, fluorite, and turquoise. He is the author of Contemporary Marbles and Related Art Glass (Schiffer Publishing, 2001), and The Encyclopedia of Modern Marbles, Spheres, & Orbs (Schiffer Publishing, 2005), and is the co-author with Robert Block of Las Vegas Lights (Schiffer Publishing, 2003). Block holds degrees in graphic design and political science, as well as a master’s of business administration/marketing. He lives in Connecticut with his wife and daughter.
