Giovanni Chegia was born in Cagliari (Sardinia) in 1951 and now lives in Genoa with his family. He has been retired for a number of years, which has allowed him to deepen his research on and study of the Model 1891 rifle, authoring, thanks to the collection of Alberto Simonelli,  one of the most complex and complete web sites covering this particular weapon which  now has the distinction of being published and distributed in English. Alberto Simonelli was born in La Spezia in 1961; he owns a company that specializes in repairs and restoration of all-wheel drive vehicles. He lives in Sarzana (La Spezia) with his companion Valentina. Ralph Riccio is a retired U.S. Army officer who has authored, co-authored, and translated a number of books dealing with Italian military subjects, as well as authoring books on Irish military subjects. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Charlene.
