The Internet is full of sites offering books at discount prices, so you may very well ask yourself why you should order directly from the Publisher. It is a good question and after reading about the book at our site you may wish to visit our many retailers both online and in the real world to find the best buy. As you do, however, we ask you to consider the following reasons to make your purchase from us!
- Price: While other Internet retailers offer discounts on some of our books, the vast majority are offered at full retail, plus shipping costs. For books that cost less than $10 some sites even add a surcharge of about a dollar to the suggested retail price. (We even saw a book at one major Internet retailer that was priced at $5 over the retail price.) While we cannot undercut our faithful retailers by offering a discount, we can assure you that all our books will be accurately priced, and that most will be at the same price you will find at other Internet sites. More than that, because of the cost savings of the Internet we are able to offer FREE SHIPPING on all Internet orders in the United States, via UPS. See the next section for details.
(Note: Though we attempt to keep the prices listed on our site as current as possible, there will be rare instances when prices will be subject to change, and orders will be placed at the correct and current price.)
- *Free Shipping: Free shipping in the United States on Internet orders
saves you the shipping and handling charges of other Internet retailers. This
can amount to $4-5 on the order of a single book, and even more for orders
of multiple books. We will ship your books free**, in the United States, when
you order from schifferbooks.com. And we will do it fast!
*Please note: All free shipping orders are typically sent via UPS within the United States. If you would like your order shipped via USPS, please click on the UPS/Card Policy button located on your checkout screen for further details and instructions.
Note: European orders are handled by Bushwood Books (info@bushwoodbooks.co.uk),
and will reflect pricing changes to pounds, along with shipping and handling
charges in most cases. Please contact Bushwood Books for current pricing if you
are ordering from Europe. Orders from other parts of the world will be charged
the actual cost of shipping with no handling charge. **Please Note: As of January
1, 2006, there will be a flat rate shipping charge added to all U.S. individual
Internet orders that have a discount or promotional code applied, including our
Buy 3 get 20% off deal, our Bargain Books discount code, and our Email Order
Confirmation coupon code. The flate rate shipping will be $3.95 for the first
two books, and $1.00 for each additional book; this flate rate shipping charge
will be applied whether your order is shipped via UPS or USPS. This flate rate
shipping will not be applied to any 1 or 2 book, individual U.S. Internet orders.
- Availability: Unless you find the book in our Sneak Preview section, 99.9% of our books are in the warehouse and ready for immediate shipment (the other 0.1% have sold out and are being reprinted). There is no waiting for a special order, no holding up your order until that third book arrives so you can save postage. If you want the book there is 999-to-1 chance that it will be in transit to you within 24 hours.
- Next Business Day Handling: We will have your book in transit to you by the end of the next business day. No ifs, ands, or buts. It will be carefully packed by our order fulfillment department and on its way to you. And if we receive your order by 9 a.m. Eastern Time, there is a good chance we will send it out the same day.
- All Books May Be Returned: If you get the book and it is not what you expected, simply return it in its original condition and we will gladly credit your account, no questions asked.

After you complete your online order, Bushwood Books will contact you with full details of the cost of your order in UK pounds sterling (£). Alternatively, make your order directly with Bushwood Books. Postage and packing is free in UK, and a maximum of £5.50 for the rest of Europe.

Instructions on
Using our Website
This is a step by step guide to using
our website to browse through our titles and to place
an order:
1) The simplest way to find a book
you are interested in is to click on "Search"
and enter one or two words based on a subject you
are interested in or from a title of one of our books,
and then click on the "Go" button.
2) The search engine will then provide
a listing of our titles that match or come close to
the terms you searched under. If a book looks interesting
by its title, simply click on the title, and the book's
information page will be displayed.
3) If you would like to purchase this
title, simply click on the "Buy this Book"
link, and one copy will be placed in your shopping
cart page.
4) If you are done shopping, click
on the checkout button located in the top right corner
of your shopping cart screen, and continue through
the ordering process. If you would like to continue
browsing our site for other titles, click on your
browser's back arrow button to continue looking at
our other titles. The shopping cart will remember
your selections.
5) If you would rather browse through
our individual catalogs directly, then simply click
on the corresponding catalog name on the home page,
click on the "Titles" icon in the center
of the next page, and then select a subcategory from
the list on the page that appears. The steps above
apply once you have chosen a title that looks interesting
to you or is the book you want.
